Therapy with a Growth Mindset
Most families don’t need a ‘better’ child.
They need a more supported parent.
Maybe behaviors feel out of control.
Maybe your home feels tense more often than peaceful.
Maybe you’ve tried charts, consequences, and advice — and nothing seems to stick.
Many families begin therapy searching for support for their child. What they often discover is that the most lasting change begins with strengthening the nervous system and foundation of the parent.
At Limitless Growth Therapy, I specialize in Parent-Focused Therapy designed to help parents regulate, gain clarity, and reshape the dynamics that quietly drive family stress. When parents feel grounded and supported, the entire family system begins to shift.
For parents who feel deeply stuck — especially when unresolved trauma or long-standing patterns are inhibiting regulation at home — I also offer EMDR intensives. These focused sessions help process root experiences so you can respond with steadiness rather than reactivity.
This isn’t about blame. It’s about empowerment.
When parents regulate, families regulate.
And homes move from survival mode toward connection and calm.
Let’s grow forward — together.
Parent-Focused Therapy
Parent-Focused Therapy is often the missing piece for families seeking support for their child. After years of working with parents who initially reached out for child therapy — and through my own specialized child and family training — I began to notice a common thread: lasting change in a home begins with strengthening the foundation of the parents.
Much like pre-marital counseling prepares couples for the realities of partnership, Parent-Focused Therapy helps individuals and couples build clarity, realistic expectations, and strong communication before stress patterns become entrenched. It offers a space to explore how your own history, fears, and relational experiences shape the way you show up as a parent — and how those patterns quietly shape your family’s dynamics.
When parents intentionally grow in awareness and skill, the entire family system shifts. Homes move from cycles of tension and reactivity toward greater connection, steadiness, and emotional safety. The goal isn’t just to get through the hard seasons — it’s to create a family culture where parents and children alike are not merely surviving, but truly thriving.
By strengthening the parental foundation, families are better equipped to navigate both current challenges and the inevitable seasons ahead with compassion, confidence, and connection.
What exactly does Parent-Focused Therapy cover?
Parent-Focused Therapy is a set of 10 sessions design to help you get the most out of your therapy experience and build a regulated foundation within your home. Throughout these sessions you will be asked to reflect upon your own upbringing, you’ll be given assessments to complete plus books to be read on your own time, you’ll receive a family-oriented values game, and you’ll gain effective skills to use right away within your home. Parent-Focused Therapy is more than a weekly session; it is an intentional time to grow towards thriving in parenthood.
Parent-Focused Therapy Process
Limitless Growth Therapy was born out of a need to break from the traditional medical model in order to meet parents where they are at without the typical limitations seen in bigger agencies or conventional family therapy.
While working for multiple years solely with kiddos and their families, I continuously ran into systemic issues within those family dynamics. Family after family I wondered if there was more I could do to help them, some other approach that would combat issues from the top down, the inside out.
Parent-Focused Therapy, similar to Pre-Marital Counseling, is the answer to my ponderings. Through Parent-Focused Therapy, clients will work through the issues that create tension and upside down family structures in an open, authentic way - without kids present to make you need to filter everything you say. Whether you are looking for help to create a solid foundation before you have kids, or your knee deep into adolescent angst, or your kids are grown and transitioning to parent of adult child relationship dynamics has been difficult, Parent-Focused Therapy can help you be the parent you dream of being.
At Limitless Growth Therapy, it is our goal to reach parents who want to thrive in their parenting roles, meeting them where they are at and creating growth in all areas of their life.
